Brent Morgan: a personal website

A New Age has arisen from the depths of the Earth once again.  May the winds blow at your backs on the journeys to come.

In other words, Happy New Years.  The year of decisions and new battles is here.  It’s time to be legendary as the course of time passes by…  I’ll figure out what I’m doing about graduate school, and possibly career opportunities.  College went by so fast…  But it’s not over until it’s over.  The last stretch is here, and it must be conquered.  Plans for this month: finish graduate school applications, fellowship applications, finish a few projects from last semester.  That should help jump start the semester with an iron fist.  I’ll be spending this semester reviewing the graduate school decisions on my applications, my last batch of classes for my degrees, and probably be preparing for graduation, including invitations and the whole deal.  I guess I’m not 100% sure I’ll graduate this year, but I think it’s the best route at this juncture of life.

New Year’s resolutions: a new website (done), no more getting behind on assignments (this requires more naps and more time with nature, like sitting in the grass on campus), and more time with family/friends.  The structure of balance must be maintained to an equilibrium of efficiency and happiness.  This is how the greatest peaks are obtained, from my experience at least…

I almost ended up in New York City for New Years but it would have been too much money at the time.  Hopefully next year I will cruise to NYC and see the ball drop and have a cool time on the NYC streets!

    Happy New Year!

I’ve posted some predictions (in my field of interest, cryptanalysis) for 2009 here. There may be a few items of interest to you: three of them are in the quantum arena.

No more resolutions for me; I stick to predictions — about as likely to happen, but with less guilt. These are pretty ambitious, so I’ll consider the exercise successful if even half of them turn out right.

I see that my link didn’t get underlined, so here’s goes another try: here. If this followup attempt doesn’t work either, feel free to delete it. (HTML is one code that still kicks my butt.)

    Hey Bill,

The link still works, even though it’s still not underlined. It has to do with the CSS file and stuff. No worries, the link is still there. I was reading your blog the other day and it’s pretty interesting stuff!!
